After such a tumultuous year and so much gloomy news, most investors are glad the year is coming to an end. We can now focus on more constructive thoughts as we head into the holiday season and a new year!
I’ll give you tips and strategies for the 2008/2009 RRSP season. I anticipate a lively dialogue as we explore the opportunities, the rules, and the challenges of contributing to one’s RRSP when dollars might be tight while also making wise investment decisions amid all the doom and gloom. It’s hard for people to disassociate from short-term volatility, but you can’t do long-term planning (and saving) with short-term emotions.
Next week I’ll offer some year-end strategies for those converting to a RIF.
